His experience in governance and grassroots mobilisation is believed to have played a key role in securing the confidence of party stakeholders.

Party leaders and members described his emergence as a strategic decision intended to foster unity and stability within the APC fold. They expressed optimism that Doguwa’s leadership style would help address internal disagreements and strengthen cooperation among party executives, elected representatives and loyal supporters.

Speaking after his emergence, Doguwa pledged to promote inclusiveness and transparency in running the affairs of the party. He assured members that his administration would focus on reconciliation, discipline and collective progress. According to him, the APC in Kano must remain united and focused in order to effectively serve the interests of its members and supporters.

He also called on party faithful to set aside personal differences and work towards strengthening the party’s presence across communities in the state. Emphasising the importance of grassroots engagement, Doguwa noted that rebuilding trust and expanding participation at ward and local government levels would be a key priority under his leadership.

Political observers view his emergence as significant, given Kano’s strategic importance in Nigeria’s political landscape. With Doguwa now at the helm of the party structure in the state, expectations are high that the APC will intensify efforts to consolidate its base and prepare for future political contests.
