First Lady Remi Tinubu Donates 10,000 Sanitary Pads to Schoolgirls in Oyo State

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated 10,000 sanitary pads to schoolgirls across Oyo State as part of her ongoing commitment to promoting menstrual hygiene and supporting adolescent girls in the country.

The donation was made through the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), her flagship humanitarian programme focused on uplifting women, children, and vulnerable groups. The distribution took place during an outreach event held in Ibadan, where representatives of the First Lady emphasized the importance of menstrual health in ensuring girls remain in school and stay confident during their periods.

Speaking at the event, officials from the RHI said the gesture is aimed at reducing the challenges many girls face due to lack of access to sanitary products an issue that often leads to school absenteeism and poor academic performance.

Beneficiaries and school authorities expressed appreciation for the First Lady’s intervention, describing it as timely and impactful, especially for girls from low-income families.

The initiative continues to gain momentum as similar distributions are expected across other states in the coming weeks, reinforcing the First Lady’s commitment to improving the welfare and dignity of Nigerian girls.
