Mike Tyson Returns To Ring Against Jake Paul

Lennox Lewis shares his thoughts on old rival Mike Tyson fighting Jake Paul saying: "I don’t want him to get hurt"

The retired heavyweight legend recently sent shockwaves through the boxing world by announcing he will fight Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium in Texas on July 20.

Tyson’s former rival, Lennox Lewis has spoken of his excitement at seeing Mike Tyson return to the ring.

Tyson bs Paul is projected to be one of the most-watched fights of all time as it will be available to stream to anyone on the planet with a Netflix account.

Fighters and fans have expressed their concern for Tyson, who will be 58-years-old at the time of the fight, as he prepares to face a man 31 years younger than him.

Some people called for the bout to be scrapped, but one of Tyson’s most famous adversaries is looking forward to watching his old rival lace up the gloves again.

“Absolutely, it’s going to be a great fight,” Lewis said in an interview with TMZ Sports when asked if he’s looking forward to watching Paul vs Tyson.

There was mass speculation about the rules for Tyson’s return to the ring before it was recently confirmed that his clash with Paul will be an exhibition.

“This is called an exhibition, but if you look up exhibition, you won’t see any of the laws we’re fighting under,” ‘Iron Mike’ told Fox News.

“This is a fight. I don’t think he’s faster than me. I’ve seen a YouTube video of him at 16 doing weird dancing.

“That’s not the guy I’m fighting. This is a guy who’s going to try and hurt me, which I’m accustomed to, and he’s going to be greatly mistaken.”

Lewis easily stopped a faded Tyson when they fought in June 2002.

However, he thinks the ‘The Problem Child’ should be thanking his lucky stars that he isn’t facing his former opponent in a professional boxing bout 22 years later.

He added with a cheeky smirk: “I would feel really bad for Jake Paul.

“I don’t want him to get hurt.”

Paul is the pre-fight favourite, but Lewis is not alone in suggesting Tyson still has what it takes to deal with the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

Chuck Liddell, Tyron Woodley and the ‘world’s oldest boxer’ are just some of the people who think an upset could be on the cards this summer.
