Although Anthony Joshua is unable to choose between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, he has backed one of them to become the first heavyweight champion to win without a challenge since Lennox Lewis.
Joshua’s career objective was to win all four titles, but his dreams of becoming a cruiserweight champion may have come to an abrupt end after back-to-back defeats to Usyk.
As of February 17, Usyk is the WBA, WBO, and IBF champion. Tyson Fury’s WBC championship is up for grabs.
While some believe Joshua would assist the British fighter in the hopes of a future bout—possibly including a world title—without losing any luster, he told TNT Sports that he is fully in favor of his former rival.
