Another Military Coup In Africa - Gabon

Ali Bongo,  President of Gabon, has been deposed by the military, few days after being announced as the winner of the just concluded presidential election.

Soldiers were said to have appeared on Gabonese national television in Gabon to announce that they had taken power According to the BBC.

The junta  announced the annulment of last Saturday’s election and the dissolution of the democratic government in the country also

Bongo, who came to power after the death of his father in 2009, won a third term in an election which  oppositions alledgedly faulted heavily.

This news comes   few weeks after the  Niger Republic coup.

As of the time of filing in this report,  Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and African Union (AU),  are yet to react to the coup in Gabon
