An anonymous middle-aged woman was saved by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Osogbo, according to a statement released on Wednesday by spokesperson Adeleke Kehinde and Commandant Sunday Agboola.
Agboola said that on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, the woman was saved after the NSCDC’s Search and Rescue Team quickly responded to a distress call.
They revived her with basic first aid and hurried her to the hospital for additional care.
The woman disclosed that she had journeyed from Iragbiji to Osogbo with the purpose of plunging into the Gbodofon River. She felt a strong burning feeling throughout her body and thought the only way to alleviate it was to leap into the Osun River.
