At the Ministry of Police Affairs at a two-day management retreat on Monday, the minister disclosed the development.
She added that the Ministry of Police Affairs was dedicated to coordinating its efforts to help realize Mr. President’s vision for a revitalized and highly effective NPF, even though she acknowledged that the Nigeria Police Force and the Ministry were at a critical juncture and were currently dealing with the effects of decades of neglect that have impeded their ability to fulfill their constitutional mandate.
In particular, the Police Inspectorate Department needs to change the way it operates so that it emphasizes thorough monitoring, assessment, accountability, and learning. Reports are essential instruments for improving police performance; they must be factual, useful, and supported by evidence.
