Thomas Crooks has been identified as the sniper who attempted to assassinate former president Donald Trump on his campaign ground in Butler, Pennsylvania while delivering campaign’s speech.
He was reported killed on top of the roof of a neighbouring building near the campaign ground closed to where security vans were parked, about 20 metres away from the campaign ground.
The video released by the security network of US police force shows a stream of blood streaking from Thomas Crooks’s lifeless body, after sources say the former US president will no longer hold outdoor rallies.
The sniper who was identified as Thomas Crooks, was 20 years old. And was killed on top of the roof from where he executed a shot at Mr Trump on 13 July 2024. There is no evidence of any accomplices yet according to The FBI
After Crook’s several shot, one person was reported dead and two injured at the scene.
Mr. Trump was seen dropping to the floor after a bullet grazed his ear while he was delivering a speech at the rally.
The bodycam footage was obtained from the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit in Pennsylvania after requests from Congress.
The video, which was later shared on the X social media platform by Republican Senator Chuck Grassley, shows a long stream of blood from Crooks’s body streaking across the rooftop.
A firearm can be seen close to the body but it is not clear if it is the one that was used by the gunman.
