Amina Hassan, a resident of Mubi North’s Shuware neighborhood, married Muhammad Auwal around five weeks ago. She disclosed that the two had made a pre-marital agreement that the guy would divorce her soon after the wedding.
As per Suleiman Nguroje, the state Police Public Relations Officer, she told the police that she had set the house on fire because her husband wouldn’t call it quits.
We agreed that following their marriage, he would file for divorce from me. When I first met him, I begged him to get a divorce, but he refused.
She told police investigators that “he came down on me and started beating me instead of divorcing me, and as a result I lost my temper and set the house ablaze.”
