As Muslims across Nigeria prepare for the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, prominent political figures, Senator Smart Adeyemi Ododo and former Governor Yahaya Bello, have called on citizens to offer prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the nation’s leadership.

In separate goodwill messages released ahead of the Sallah festivities, the leaders urged Nigerians to use the spiritual significance of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for peace, unity, and economic stability in the country. They stressed that the administration of President Tinubu requires the support and prayers of citizens as it continues efforts to tackle insecurity, inflation, and other national challenges.

Ododo described Eid-el-Kabir as a season of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion, noting that Nigerians should emulate the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim by showing patience and faith during difficult times. He encouraged Muslims to extend love to the less privileged and maintain harmony within their communities.

Similarly, Bello called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and supportive of the Federal Government’s reforms. According to him, the nation is passing through a critical stage that demands collective prayers and unity from all citizens regardless of political or religious differences.

The leaders also appealed to Nigerians to celebrate responsibly and avoid actions capable of threatening public peace during the festivities. Security agencies across several states have already intensified preparations to ensure a safe and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration nationwide.

Eid-el-Kabir, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, remains one of the most important celebrations in Islam and is marked with prayers, charity, and gatherings among families and communities.
