Flamingos Beat Brazil 3-1 to Reach U-17 Women’s World Cup Final

Nigeria’s Flamingos have booked their place in the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco after defeating Brazil 3-1 in Wednesday’s semi-final encounter.

The Nigerian side produced an impressive second-half performance to overcome their South American opponents and move within one victory of claiming the world title.

After a goalless first half, Queen Joseph opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 55th minute. The Flamingos maintained their attacking pressure, with Awuwu Bashiru extending the lead in the 71st minute before scoring again in the 80th minute to complete her brace.

Brazil managed to reduce the deficit through Graise Kelly in the 89th minute, but the late goal could not change the outcome as Nigeria held on for a 3-1 victory.

The Flamingos will now face Japan in Saturday’s final, after the Asian side secured their place by defeating North Korea on penalties.

Nigeria will be aiming to overcome their final opponents and secure the global title following their impressive run in the competition.
