After spending 21 years in America, a UK-trained graduate in banking and fiancé shares the touching tale of how he ended up under the Oshodi bridge in Lagos.
The individual claimed that he had studied banking and finance for nine years in London.
He had a dream while he was living in America in which he saw himself flying and saw several signboards, one saying “Welcome to Bahamas,” another saying “Welcome to London,” another saying “Welcome to Africa,” and yet another saying “Welcome to Nigeria.”
He claimed that his family had sent him to a hospital in California when he awoke from the dream shouting deliriously in Nigerian.
He was transferred back to Nigeria after being discharged from the hospital, where his older siblings met him at the airport and drove him to Yaba Psychiatric Hospital.
He added that no one was coming to take care of his expenses and maintenance, so the hospital had to send him out after dumping him there.
The Nigerian man claimed that he started sleeping beneath the Oshodi Bridge and that one day the police started chasing people out of their hiding places beneath the bridge.
According to his story, the police asked him who he was and prodded him with their rifle.
