Plot to overthrow President Tinubu

Plot to overthrow President Tinubu

Andrew Wynne, a 70-year-old Briton wanted by the Nigerian Police Force for threatening to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s  government by sponsoring a nationwide protest has reveals why he won’t be honouring the Police invitation.

The Police had earlier placed a N20 million bounty on Wynne and a Nigerian, Lucky Obiyan, for plotting to overthrow President Tinubu by allegedly financing the recent #EndBadGovernance or #Hungerprotest across Nigeria.
While the Briton had denied the allegations against him by the Police, he has however said he would not be honouring the police invite due to their brutality.

According to Punch newspaper, the Briton claimed that he would be tortured to death by the Nigerian Police Force should he visit the country over the  invitation.
Also said that the Nigeria Police has never extended an invitation to him.

Wynne said he would not be alive if he surrendered to the police.
In his words words;

“The police say, if I am innocent I should give myself up. I am innocent. Like Yomi, for example, Yomi is completely innocent, give myself up and be tortured?
“I mean, it’s beyond fear, isn’t it? Yomi is my son and he’s completely innocent and was tortured for three days.
“And the police expect me to come back to Nigeria and be tortured? My fear is I would not be alive. It’s not about fear of torture and being beaten up by the police, it’s fear for my life. I don’t think I would survive the year if I came back to Nigeria,” Wynne said.
