The Ogun State Police command has arrested a 43-year-old pastor named Clinton John for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl in the Agbado region of the state.
Information surfaced that in November 2022, Mr. John—who was reportedly a man of God at Mega Healing Ministry—defiled the minor.
On Sunday, however, Omolola Odutola, the state police spokesperson, stated that the arrest came about as a result of a report made by a family in Giwa Agbado, alleging that John had defiled their 16-year-old daughter at the Agbado Divisional Police Station.
The family stated that their daughter had been treated for recurrent infections on several occasions and had shown frightening behaviors leading them to believe that she may have had sex.
However, she was hiding the person’s identity since her parents wanted to convince her. Later, she admitted, she revealed that from November 2022, one John, a pastor of Mega Healing Ministry, had been having intensely intimate knowledge of her.
The pastor allegedly threatened to kill their kid if she told anybody about the cagey romance, according to their daughter.
“The suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for discreet investigation, and the rape survivor was instructed to go for treatment and examination.”
