Following many hours of voting and results aggregation for the state of Kogi, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially declared All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Ahmed Usman-Ododo the victor.
With 446,237 votes, Ododo defeated my nearest challenger, Murtala Ajaka, who represented the Social Democratic Party (SDP), with 259,052 votes, and Dino Melaye, who represented the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with 46,362 votes.
Usman-Ododo emerged victorious from his opponents in the 2023 Kogi governorship election, making him the state’s new governor.
Not many people actually knew Usman-Ododo prior to my running for the state’s APC primary, but surprise, I defeated other candidates to become the flagbearer.
