In Abaranje, Ikotun, Lagos State, a woman named Rachel Johnson, 47, was fatally stabbed while intervening in an argument between churchgoers.
According to the Lagos State Police Command, on Saturday at around three in the morning, the deceased’s husband, Okerube Johnson, went to the Ikotun Police Station to report that his wife, Rachel, had been stabbed.
Okerube reported that she had attended a crusade; however, she added that Rachel had intervened to try to break up a brawl between several Church members.
According to the police narrative, “one of them stabbed her in the neck with a sharp object while she was separating the fighters.” And she began to bleed.
She was taken to Igando General Hospital right away. But as she bled to death, all attempts to resuscitate her failed.
“Her body was placed for autopsy at the mortuary of Mainland General Hospital, Yaba.”
