A former senator, Iyabo Obasanjo, has called for fairness and inclusiveness in the ongoing political realignments within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State.

Amid growing conversations around power rotation and consensus arrangements ahead of future political contests, Obasanjo emphasized the need for equity among party stakeholders. She noted that any attempt to sideline certain blocs or impose decisions without broad consultation could deepen internal divisions within the party.

Speaking on the evolving dynamics, Obasanjo urged party leaders to prioritize unity over personal ambition, stressing that consensus should not be a tool for exclusion but a process that reflects the collective will of members. According to her, fairness in political negotiations is critical to maintaining stability and strengthening the party’s grassroots support.

The APC in Ogun State has recently witnessed heightened discussions over leadership structure and zoning arrangements, with different factions pushing for influence in shaping the party’s future direction. Political observers say these developments could significantly impact the party’s performance in upcoming elections.

Obasanjo’s intervention is seen by analysts as a call for transparency and balance at a time when internal cohesion remains crucial for the APC’s dominance in the state.
