APC Hails Tinubu Over Peace Meeting in Benue
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his intervention in efforts to restore peace and stability in Benue State following recent tensions in parts of the state.
In a statement released by party officials, the APC described Tinubu’s peace meeting with stakeholders in Benue as a timely and strategic move aimed at addressing lingering security concerns and fostering unity among affected communities.
The meeting reportedly brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, security agencies, and community representatives to discuss sustainable solutions to recurring conflicts, particularly those affecting rural areas. The party noted that such inclusive dialogue is crucial in resolving disputes and rebuilding trust among citizens.
According to the APC, the President’s leadership demonstrates a strong commitment to national peace and security, especially in regions that have experienced instability. The party emphasized that Tinubu’s approach prioritizes dialogue, collaboration, and long-term solutions over temporary measures.
“Mr. President has once again shown that he is a leader who listens and acts decisively in the interest of the people,” the statement read. “His engagement with stakeholders in Benue reflects a genuine desire to bring lasting peace to the region.”
The APC further urged residents of Benue to support government efforts by cooperating with security agencies and embracing peaceful coexistence. It also called on community leaders to continue promoting dialogue and reconciliation at the grassroots level.
Benue State has faced recurring security challenges over the years, often linked to communal clashes and disputes over land and resources. Observers believe that sustained engagement by the federal government, alongside state and local actors, will be key to achieving lasting stability.
The party reaffirmed its support for the Tinubu administration, expressing optimism that ongoing peace initiatives will yield positive outcomes for Benue and other parts of the country facing similar challenges.
