ADC Remains Strong, United Despite Obi, Kwankwaso’s Exit — Rivers Chairman

The Rivers State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has assured party members and supporters that the party remains solid and united despite the reported exit of key political figures, including Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Speaking during a press briefing in Port Harcourt, the state chairman dismissed concerns that the departure of the high-profile politicians would weaken the party’s structure or influence ahead of future elections. He described the ADC as an institution built on strong ideological foundations rather than individual personalities.

According to him, while Obi and Kwankwaso played notable roles during their time in the party, their exit does not define the strength or direction of the ADC. He emphasized that the party continues to attract new members across the country, particularly among young Nigerians seeking credible political alternatives.

“The ADC is bigger than any individual. Our vision and mission remain intact, and we are more united than ever,” the chairman said. “We respect their decisions, but the party is focused on building a formidable structure that will compete effectively at all levels.”

He further revealed that the party is currently strengthening its grassroots presence, expanding its leadership base, and preparing strategic plans for upcoming electoral cycles. He noted that internal unity and discipline remain top priorities for the party leadership.

Political analysts have described the exits as significant but not entirely unexpected, given Nigeria’s dynamic political landscape where alliances and affiliations often shift. However, they agree that the ADC’s ability to maintain cohesion and expand its base will be critical to its future relevance.

The Rivers chairman urged party faithful not to be discouraged, reiterating that the ADC remains committed to providing credible leadership and governance alternatives for Nigerians.

As the political climate continues to evolve, the party says it is determined to reposition itself as a strong contender, focusing on policy-driven leadership and national development.
