Mandy Kiss and the Guinness World Record Controversy: When Publicity Meets Morality

Nigerian content creator and self-styled “President of Olosho,” Mandy Kiss, has once again pushed the boundaries of social conversation with her shocking announcement to break a supposed Guinness World Record (GWR) by sleeping with 100 men within 24 hours. The announcement, which surfaced through her Instagram page, instantly went viral, sparking outrage, ridicule, moral debate, and curiosity across Nigeria’s entertainment space.

Mandy Kiss, who has built her brand around provocative statements and bold stunts, released a flyer carrying the Guinness World Records logo with the proposed date of October 30, 2025, for the event. In her words: “100 men for 24 hours. I can and I will.” The declaration was intended as a statement of empowerment, but it has instead opened a Pandora’s box of criticism and ethical questioning.

Guinness World Records Responds: “We Don’t Recognise that Record”

The global record-keeping body wasted no time distancing itself from the announcement. In a swift response, Guinness World Records clarified that it does not monitor or endorse sexually explicit records, stressing that Mandy’s so-called record attempt would never be acknowledged.

This official stance immediately exposed the publicity stunt for what it was  a chase for attention rather than a genuine world record attempt. Yet, Guinness’ rejection has not stopped conversations, as the story continues to dominate social media trends.

Critics argue that such a stunt undermines cultural values, promotes immorality, and poses serious health and safety risks. Some religious leaders have openly condemned the move as “a sign of societal decay.”

Social media users have mocked Mandy Kiss, reminding her that alleged “s€x records” in the past involved numbers far higher than 100 men. Memes and sarcastic tweets filled timelines: “The record is 1000, not 100. You’re not ready.”

Supporters, on the other hand, see the declaration as a form of radical expression a woman taking charge of her own narrative in a society that polices female sexuality.

The mixed reactions reveal the thin line between empowerment and exploitation, and between publicity and scandal.

A Controversial History of “S€x Records”

Mandy’s declaration is not without precedent. Over the years, several adult performers have made similar claims:

In 2004, adult star Lisa Sparxxx reportedly had sex with 919 men in 22 hours during an event in Poland.

More recently, OnlyFans creator Bonnie Blue claimed to have surpassed that with 1,057 men in just 12 hours.

Both records, however, were never officially recognised by Guinness World Records, highlighting again that these claims exist only in the realm of controversy and adult entertainment not in legitimate record books.

At its core, Mandy Kiss’s stunt is not about world records but about publicity, relevance, and shock value. In an era where clicks, likes, and viral mentions drive celebrity culture, extreme declarations like this often succeed in grabbing attention. But attention is not the same as respect, and virality does not equal legacy.

Are we normalising outrageous behaviour in the name of entertainment?

Does a shock stunt empower women, or does it further commodify them in the eyes of society?

Should influencers be held accountable for promoting content that can encourage dangerous or unhealthy behaviour.

The Guinness rejection should serve as a reminder that not all publicity is worth chasing. Mandy’s name may trend today, but it risks being remembered not for achievement, but for scandal.

Mandy Kiss has once again forced Nigerians into a heated conversation about morality, sexuality, and the limits of fame. But if history is anything to go by, her Guinness World Record claim will end not in a celebration, but in controversy.

In the words of one online user: “She may trend for 24 hours, but the world will remember Guinness’ response longer than the attempt itself.”
