Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Shehu Dikko, has confirmed that Eric Chelle will remain head coach of the Super Eagles following a new agreement reached with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Dikko revealed that the updated arrangement will also place Chelle in charge of Nigeria’s U-23 national team, the Dream Team, as preparations commence for the football event of the 2028 Olympic Games.
According to him, the decision is designed to promote continuity and strengthen Nigeria’s football development structure by creating a unified technical direction for both the senior national team and the U-23 side.
Meanwhile, the winner of the next Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season will receive a record ₦1 billion prize. The runners-up will earn ₦500 million, while the third-placed team will take home ₦300 million.
The announcement emerged from the NSC and NFF Partnership Collaboration meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday.
