Victor Osimhen Won The Serie A Player Of The 2022/23 Season Award

The Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC) Player of the Year for the Serie A season of 2022–2023 is Victor Osimhen.
The 24-year-old Nigerian took home the trophy at Monday night’s Gran Gala del Calcio in Milan.
AIC, the group that supports and defends professional football players in Serie A, B, Lega Pro, and women’s football, arranged the award.
Osimhen was also included in the 2022–2023 Serie A top 11.
Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Alessandro Bastoni, Kim Min Jae, and Stanislav Lobotska are among the other players on the team of the year.
Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolo Barella, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Rafa Leao are the remaining individuals.
Napoli won its first Serie A championship in thirty-three years under Osimhen’s leadership last season.
The Super Eagles forward broke the record as the first African football player to score 25 goals in the league, making history as the league’s top goalscorer.
At the 2023 Ballon d’Or presentation, he was ranked as the eighth-best male football player in the world. Compared to other Africans on the list, the Nigerian finished first.
Osimhen also made history by being the first Nigerian to be listed among the top 10 Ballon d’Or winners.
