120 Groups Issue Travel Advisory to U.S. World Cup Visitors

A coalition of over 120 civil society organizations has issued a travel advisory to visitors planning to attend the upcoming FIFA World Cup matches in the United States, raising concerns about safety, rights, and preparedness.

In a joint statement released on Thursday, the groups urged international fans to be aware of local laws, policing practices, and emergency procedures before traveling. The advisory highlighted issues such as gun violence, racial profiling, healthcare access, and varying state laws that could affect visitors during their stay.

According to the organizations, while the United States remains a major global destination, visitors should take extra precautions, particularly in unfamiliar cities. They also advised fans to secure travel insurance, stay informed about local regulations, and avoid high-risk areas.

“We are not discouraging attendance,” the statement clarified, “but encouraging awareness and preparedness to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.”

The advisory comes as the United States prepares to host one of the biggest sporting events in the world, expected to attract millions of fans from across the globe.

Officials, however, have reassured visitors that security measures will be heightened across all host cities. Authorities say they are working closely with international bodies to ensure a smooth and safe tournament.

The FIFA World Cup in the United States is anticipated to boost tourism and economic activity, even as discussions around public safety and infrastructure continue.
