Shakur Stevenson Picks Winner in Potential Mayweather vs Pacquiao Rematch

American boxing star Shakur Stevenson has weighed in on a potential rematch between undefeated legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, making his prediction clear on who would come out on top if the two icons ever meet again.

Speaking during a recent interview, Stevenson said he would back Mayweather to win a second bout against Pacquiao, citing the American’s defensive intelligence, ring IQ, and ability to control the pace of a fight. According to Stevenson, Mayweather’s technical discipline would once again prove too much for the Filipino southpaw.

Mayweather famously defeated Pacquiao in their long-awaited 2015 clash dubbed the “Fight of the Century,” winning by unanimous decision in Las Vegas. The bout generated record-breaking pay-per-view numbers and remains one of the highest-grossing fights in boxing history.

While talks of a rematch have surfaced periodically over the years, both fighters are now far removed from their primes. Mayweather retired officially with a perfect 50-0 professional record, though he has continued to participate in exhibition bouts. Pacquiao, who briefly returned to politics after serving as a senator in the Philippines, has also hinted at possible exhibition appearances.

Stevenson, a former world champion himself, emphasized that although Pacquiao’s speed and aggression make him dangerous, Mayweather’s defensive mastery and adaptability would likely neutralize those strengths again.

Fans remain divided over whether a second fight would produce a different outcome. However, if Stevenson’s prediction holds true, “Money” Mayweather would once again have his hand raised in what would be another historic chapter in boxing’s greatest rivalry of the modern era.
