No More Police Stops for Vehicle Papers
The information reaching Kpomkwem News says that the Nigeria Police Force has revealed that the Central Motor Registry Information System (e-CMR), which was recently introduced will stop officers from further random road side checking of vehicles papers from car owners.
Hence everything is now digitalised into a single system that brings out every document of any vehicle registered under the system.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, made this known on Wednesday night in a post via his account on the X platform.
According to him, Police Officers would now be equipped with cutting-edge technology to verify documents in real time.
Adejobi added that once the e-CMR goes into effect, vehicle owners and users would no longer need to carry physical documents as all vehicle document information would be available digitally.
In the case of stolen vehicles:
He added that if a vehicle which is registered with the NPF E-CMR gets stolen, the owner can easily flag it on his/her profile and all police officers nationwide on the field would be alerted in seconds on the development.
