Umuahia, the Abia State capital on Monday was totally shut down in honour of the ongoing peaceful protest docked #FreeNnamdiKanu.  The residents decided to withdraw from their daily business activities  in solidarity with the protest going on in Abuja, Nigerian capital territory led by rights activist Omoleye Sowore.

Reports reaching Kpomkwem News states that the roads were virtually empty except for the occasional movement of tricycles and a few vehicles.

Economic and commercial activities were totally paralysed as shops, markets, banks, petrol stations, motor parks are all under lock and keys for business.
Similarly,, both private and public did not open for studies today as well.

Notice of a convoy of joint security patrol teams were seen along Uwakala Road, probably to monitor the situation.
Traders at the popular Isigate market did not show up for business.
Most of the major streets, including Post Office/Abia Tower Junction, FMC/Bank Road Junction, and Umuahia,  were all deserted as reported by Kpomkwem News correspondent.
