Qatar Reports Progress in US-Iran Negotiations
The United States and Iran have recorded progress in indirect negotiations, according to mediators Qatar and Pakistan.
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed al-Ansari said late Wednesday that “positive progress” had been achieved on issues linked to the framework agreement reached two weeks ago to end the Iran war.
The discussions were held separately in Qatar’s capital, Doha, with negotiators from both sides.
In a post on X, al-Ansari said the parties agreed to continue talks in the coming weeks, with the next round expected to be scheduled after the funeral ceremonies for former Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in late February.

Iranian media reported that the funeral ceremonies will begin on July 4 in Tehran and the holy city of Qom, while Khamenei is expected to be buried on July 9 in his hometown of Mashhad in northeastern Iran.
