Tamunosoye Karibi-George Crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026

Tamunosoye Karibi-George, representing Bayelsa State, has emerged as the winner of the Miss World Nigeria 2026 pageant. The 26-year-old beauty queen, who hails from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, triumphed over 20 contestants in this year’s competition themed “Pride, Power, and Purpose.”
She was crowned on Saturday night during the grand finale held at the prestigious Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos.
With her victory, Karibi-George will carry Nigeria’s flag at the 73rd Miss World Festival scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 9 to September 5, 2026.
Announcing the achievement, Silverbird Group founder and former Bayelsa East Senator, Ben Murray-Bruce, hailed the new queen as a symbol of purpose and impact.
“We have a queen! A new chapter begins. Join us in celebrating Tamunosoye Karibi-George, representing Bayelsa State, as the newly crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026,” he wrote on X.
Beyond her beauty and elegance, Karibi-George is known for her advocacy initiative, Beyond Labels, which promotes inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for children with special needs. Her platform seeks to create supportive environments where children are encouraged to dream without being limited by their circumstances.
Murray-Bruce praised her intelligence, compassion, and dedication to making a difference, saying these qualities distinguished her and earned her the honour of wearing the crown.
He also called on Nigerians to support her as she embarks on the journey to represent the nation on the global stage in Vietnam, expressing confidence that she would make the country proud.

Organised by the Silverbird Group, Miss World Nigeria remains one of the country’s leading beauty pageants, selecting Nigeria’s representative for the global Miss World competition, which promotes the “Beauty with a Purpose” philosophy by encouraging contestants to engage in meaningful humanitarian projects.
Karibi-George succeeds Joy Mojisola Raimi, Miss World Nigeria 2025, who represented Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India, where she reached the Top 20 and ranked among the Top 5 contestants from Africa.
