AMVCA 12: Full List of Winners Announced at Africa’s Biggest Film Night
The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) was held on Saturday night at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, bringing together top actors, filmmakers, producers, and entertainers from across Africa for a glamorous celebration of film and television excellence.
One of the biggest stories of the night was the dominance of the movie My Father’s Shadow, which won several major categories including Best Movie and Best Director. Akinola Davies Jr. emerged as Best Director for the critically acclaimed project, while the film also picked up awards for writing, sound, and technical excellence.
Actor Uzor Arukwe won Best Lead Actor for his performance in Colours of Fire, beating strong contenders including Wale Ojo and Lateef Adedimeji. Meanwhile, Linda Ejiofor had a memorable night, winning Best Lead Actress for The Serpent’s Gift and also claiming Best Supporting Actress for The Herd.
