The Nigerian military has assured residents of the North-East region of a peaceful and secure Sallah celebration, pledging intensified operations against insurgents and criminal elements during the festive period.

Military authorities said troops have been strategically deployed across major towns, highways, and vulnerable communities to prevent any form of attack or disruption. The assurance comes amid renewed efforts by security agencies to maintain stability in states affected by insurgency, particularly Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa.

According to military officials, coordinated patrols, intelligence gathering, and aerial surveillance have been strengthened to ensure residents celebrate without fear. The armed forces also urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious movements or activities.

The military noted that recent operations in the region have significantly weakened terrorist groups and reduced their ability to launch large-scale attacks. Authorities expressed confidence that the improved security measures would provide a safe atmosphere for worshippers, travelers, and families during the Eid celebrations.

Residents across the region have welcomed the development, with many hoping for a peaceful holiday after years of insecurity and displacement caused by insurgency. Community leaders also called on citizens to embrace unity, peace, and lawful conduct throughout the celebrations.

Security agencies further warned criminal elements against attempting to disrupt public peace, stressing that troops remain on high alert and fully prepared to respond swiftly to any threat.
