Nigeria today lost two prominent politicians, a former speaker of the house of representatives and a sitting governor.
The ex-speaker of the house of representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abbaa died early hours of today at the age of 65.
The 4th speaker of Nigeria’s green chamber died at the National Hospital in Abuja around 3 am on Wednesday.
Na’Abba was born on September 27, 1958 in Tudun Wada, Kano state.
He was speaker of the house representatives, as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), from 1999 to 2003.
On the other hand, the sitting governor of Oyo state, Governor Akeredolu also passed on today.
Recently, he went on another medical leave after being directed by President Bola Tinubu to hand over power to his deputy,
His deputy, Aiyedatiwa, has been standing as acting governor.
Following his return to Nigeria in September, Akeredolu stayed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital and tried to govern his state from there, leading to public outrage.
Akeredolu’s wife, Betty announced the suspension of activities lined up to celebrate her 70th birthday.
